Monitoring of water quality in selected Yarmouth County lakes of the Tusket catchment, primarily to monitor changes in water quality in the wake of enactment of the Fur Industry Regulations.  These studies will help indicate trends in nutrient levels and whether or not there has been any environmental  effect from the Fur Industry Act. The bulk of this year’s monitoring will be covered by NS Environment, but complementary funding will be needed for Salmon and Kegeshook lakes as well as the autumn monitoring on Yarmouth County lakes.
